Magnitude 4.0 Bay Area earthquake rattles Oakland, Berkeley

Magnitude 4.0 earthquake hit Bay Area, California today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located 5 km SE of Berkeley, California. It was 3.3 miles deep.

Following USGS Pager Map, moderate shaking of MMI V will have been felt by the people of Berkeley, Piedmont, Emeryville, Kensington, Orinda and Oakland. Similarly, light shaking of MMI IV will have been felt by the people of San Francisco.

No preliminary damage or injuries have been reported.
