  • Landslide in Tianzhu, China
    -    Landslide in Tianzhu County, Guizhou Province of China has claimed lives of at least five people and injured three others.
    -Landslide disaster occurred at around 5 a.m. Sunday morning in Gaoniang township, Tianzhu County of China. Click for detail report on China landslide.
  • Hailstorm in Vojvodina, Serbia
    -Recent hailstorm in Serbia’s northern province of Vojvodina caused huge damaged to crops.
    -Hail knocked downed trees in Kulpin area.
Recent Earthquakes 
  • M 4.2 light shallow earthquake in Cebu, Philippines (@ 19 km depth) with epicenter located 9 km N of  San Carlos City (Negros Occidental). Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Iloilo City, Cebu city and Canlaon City. Click for detail report on Cebu earthquake.

  • M 5.6 moderate aftershocks in Iran (@ 25 km depth) with epicenter located 80 km ESE of Minab. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Minab. people of Bandar 'Abbas, Dib Dibba, Ra's al Khaymah, Qeshm, Diba, Khasab, Adh Dhayd, Al Fujayrah and Khawr Fakkan. Yesterday magnitude earthquake claimed two lives in Iran.

  • Mexico/Popocatepetl recent volcanic activity
    -    An increased level of explosive activity has been observed at Popocatepetl volcano.
    -    Popocatepetl volcano spewed a plume of steam more than a half mile (1 kilometer) into the sky.
    -The alert level for Popocatepetl     volcano has been raised to yellow phase three from yellow phase two.
    -Officials have closed off a seven-square-mile (18-square-kilometer) zone around the cone and Soldiers and federal police have been send to the volcano zone, ABC Local reports. Click for Mexico only natural disasters 2013.
Recent Tropical Cyclones
  • Tropical Cyclone Mahasen
    -Following special weather bulletin issued by Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) at 12pm on Sunday, Tropical Cyclone Mahasen was located about 1, 455 km south-southwest of Chittagong seaport and some 242 km southeast of capital Dhaka.
    -Cautionary danger signal “3” has been issued for Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Mongla. Click for detail report on cyclone Mahasen.

We have developed several natural disasters early warning system which provides warnings of natural disasters before they impact people and property. Hail storm in Chennai: 3rd time in 5 years

Hail storm hit Ayanavaram, Chennai between 1.30pm and 1.45pm Friday afternoon. Nungambakkam recorded 3.5cm of rain and Meenambakkam 1.1cm, India Meteorological Department said. Last hail storm in Chennai was in September 6, 2011. This is the third hail storm in Chennai in last 5 years. No damage or injury have been reported from Chennai hail storm. Q: The tremors of earthquake were felt at intervals of 15 seconds. The first tremor was felt at 8:54:57 and last tremor was felt at 10:45:12. How many times were the tremors felt? A: The answer is 441 Difference of times = 10:45:12 - 8:54:57 = 9:104:72 - 8:54:57 = 1:50 :15 = 3600 + 3000 + 15 = 6615 seconds. Now, 6615/15 = 441 Still confused?
