    -
    Landslide in Tianzhu County, Guizhou Province of China has claimed lives of at least five people and injured three others.

  • Hailstorm in Vojvodina, Serbia
    -Recent hailstorm in Serbia’s northern province of Vojvodina caused huge damaged to crops.
    -Hail knocked downed trees in Kulpin area.

  • M 5.6 moderate aftershocks in Iran (@ 25 km depth) with epicenter located 80 km ESE of Minab. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Minab. people of Bandar 'Abbas, Dib Dibba, Ra's al Khaymah, Qeshm, Diba, Khasab, Adh Dhayd, Al Fujayrah and Khawr Fakkan. Yesterday magnitude earthquake claimed two lives in Iran.

    -
    An increased level of explosive activity has been observed at Popocatepetl volcano.
    -
    Popocatepetl volcano spewed a plume of steam more than a half mile (1 kilometer) into the sky.
    -The alert level for Popocatepetl
    volcano has been raised to yellow phase three from yellow phase two.

  • Tropical Cyclone Mahasen
    -Following special weather bulletin issued by Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) at 12pm on Sunday, Tropical Cyclone Mahasen was located about 1, 455 km south-southwest of Chittagong seaport and some 242 km southeast of capital Dhaka.

It's important to know how we can prepare for natural disasters with proper emergency preparedness plan for less natural disasters damage. We have developed several natural disasters early warning system which provides warnings of natural disasters before they impact people and property. However, in spite of all the capabilities for advance warnings, we are still quite poor at preparing for these natural disasters. Hail storm in Chennai: 3rd time in 5 years

Hail storm hit Ayanavaram, Chennai between 1.30pm and 1.45pm Friday afternoon. Nungambakkam recorded 3.5cm of rain and Meenambakkam 1.1cm, India Meteorological Department said.
