Did you feel it? - Report an Earthquake
  •  M 4.8 moderate earthquake near the South Coast of Honshu, Japan (@ 72 km depth) with epicenter located 11 km WNW of Ichihara. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Chiba, Sagamihara, Tokyo, Tsukuba and Yokohama.

  • M 6.1 strong shallow aftershocks in Santa Cruz Islands )@ 9 km depth) with epicenter located 59 km SW of Lata. People of Sola and Luganville will have felt just a weak shaking ofv MMI II.

  • M 2.4 weak rare earthquake in United Kingdom with epicenter located seven miles south of the village of Durness, in Sutherland in the Scottish Highlands. It will have well felt by the people of Loch Eriboll.
    Update
    The earthquake is the largest quake in the area for around 120 years. Earlier quake on September 26 1887 was of magnitude of three.  
  • M 5.9 strong earthquake in Eastern New Guinea Reg, Papua New Guinea (@ 35 km depth) with epicenter located 44 km SSW of Finschhafen. Moderate shaking of MMI V will have felt by the people of Finschhafen. People of Lae, Bulolo, Wau, Popondetta, Kainantu, Kerema, Kokoda, Kandrian and Madang will have felt light to weak shaking.

Ongoing Major River Floods (Based on Satellite observation): Afghanistan (Amu Darya), Australia (Darling), Bolivia (Madre de Dios), Brazil (Tocantins), Chad (N Djamena), China (Mekong and Huang He), Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ubangi), Dominican Republic, Honduras, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq (Shatt al Arab and Tigris), Kenya (Tana), Philippines, Sudan (Blue Nile, White Nile), Syria (Euphrates), Tanzania.
  • Flooding in Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines
    -Flooding in Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines has affected nearly 10,000 people.
    -The evacuated people have been living nearby schools and higher grounds.
    -Floods have also affected people of Dipolog City, Polanco and Katipunan.

    -Flash floods in Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines killed one in August 2012.

Erupting Volcanoes: Fuego, Santiago, Poas, Reventador, Nyiragongo, Ol Doniyo Lengai, Raung, Erta Ale, Paluweh, Gamalama, Batu Tara, Sakurajima, Manam, Ulawun, Tolbachik and Kilauea volcano.


Recent Tropical Cyclones
  • Tropical Cyclone Felleng
    -As of 12:00 UTC, TC Felleng was located 275 nm west of La Reunion.
    -Tropical Cyclone Felleng caused heavy rainfall in Madagascar, Reunion and Mauritius.
    -Cyclone Felleng in Madagascar killed five people yesterday. Floods displaced more than 700 people in Antananarivo.
