  • Tornadoes in central Queensland, Australia
    -At least five tornadoes hit Queensland coastal towns. Disaster injured 17 people.
    -Burnett Heads and nearby Bargara have been declared as natural disaster areas.
    -Tornadoes in Bundaberg district destroyed around 150 homes. Out of which two were completely destroyed.
    -About 2000 people have been ordered to evacuate in Gladstone.
    -Flood warnings have also been issued for the Calliope, Boyne, Baffle and Kolan Rivers.
    -Australia Day and the Bay and Citizenship ceremony has been moved to the Sandgate Town Hall on Seymour St.
    -Australia weather bureau has predicted heavy rain and destructive winds for Brisbane of up to 125km/h until Monday (Photo: A washed road in Maputo, Mozambique; AFP).

Recent Volcanic Activity
Erupting Volcanoes: Fuego, Santiago, Poas, Reventador, Nyiragongo, Ol Doniyo Lengai, Raung, Erta Ale, Paluweh, Gamalama, Batu Tara, Sakurajima, Manam, Ulawun, Tolbachik and Kilauea volcano.


Recent Tropical Cyclones
  • Tropical Cyclone Garry
    -As of 09:00 UTC, TC Garry was located 470 nm west-southwest of bora bora.
    -A storm warning has been cancelled and a gale warning has been issued Cook Islands.
