  • Flooding in Jakarta, Indonesia
    -Torrential rain caused flooding in 16 urban villages in 5 sub-districts in East Jakarta. Among those 16 urban villages are Kampungmelayu and Bidaracina (Jatinegara Sub-District), Cililitan, Dukuh and Kramatjati (Kramatjati Sub-District), and Kalisari, Gedong, Cijantung, Baru and Pekayon (Pasarrebo Sub-District).
    -Jakarta traffic police have prepared a traffic task force with 100 officers to assist each flood-prone area.
    -Cipinang River in Makasar Urban Village overflowed and flooded around 600 homes. Evacuated people are living in Ciracas Sports Hall (GOR) and mosques.
    -Following The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), heavy rains with strong winds is forecast for Greater Jakarta for the next three days. Tornadoes are even expected.
    -The combination of the increased loss of vegetation in the upper catchments of rivers and the lack of adequate flood prevention causes frequent flooding tragedy in Jakarta.

  • M 3.5 light shallow earthquake in Central California (@ 6 km depth) with epicenter located 12 km NW from Pinnacles. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Tres Pinos, Soledad, Hollister, Paicines, Lompoc, Venice and Los Angeles.

  • M 3.0 weak shallow earthquake in Eastern Tennessee, North Carolina (@ 7 km depth) with epicenter located 8 km NE from Sevierville. It will have well felt by the people of Dandridge, Pigeon Forge, Knoxville, Gatlinburg, Jefferson City, Sevierville and Kodak.

    Tremor was felt as far south as Vonore, as far north as Morristown, as far west as Alcoa and as far east as Black Mountain, N.C. 
  • M 4.8 moderate earthquake near the South Coast of Honshu, Japan (@ 66 km depth) with epicenter located just 10 km WNW of Ichihara. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Chiba-shi, Funabashi, Narashino, Chiba, Ichihara-shi and Tokyo. Weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Yokosuka, Yokohama-shi, Sagamihara and Atsugi.

  • M 4.8 moderate deep earthquake in Antofagasta, Chile (@ 122 km depth) with epicenter located 105 km SSE of San Pedro de Atacama. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Calama, Antofagasta and San Salvador de Jujuy.

    -As of 12:00 UTC, TC Boldwin was located 435 nm south-southeast of Diego Garcia.

  • Thunderstorm rumor in UAE
    -The social networking sites was flooded with the severe thunderstorm and heavy rainfall news in parts of UAE.
    -UAE Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) denied the rumor that worst weather will hit Alsala and will pass in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, the rest of the United Arab Emirates to Oman.
    -Similar rumor that earthquake and cyclone will hit Dubai, United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) panicked people in February 2012.
