-Death toll due to Mindanao floods has risen to six. Still 68 people are reported to be missing.

Flooding in Mindanao, Philippines


-According to Philippines National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, two people died by flooding in Mindanao region.
-Fatalities are from Sarangani and General Santos City.
-At least 17 fishermen from Ostigue, Baybay in Brgy. Big Margus in Glan and two from Kalambiga village in Glan were rescued.
Sultan Kudarat: 2,460 families affected and 23 families evacuated.
Worst flooded area: barangays Obial, Sta. Clara, Hinalaan and Himulan in Kalamansig town in Sultan Kudarat.
Bukidnon: At least 50 families evacuated.
Worst flooded area: barangays Cabangahan, Bangkud, Aglayan and Linabo in Malaybalay City in Bukidnon.

This is what PAGASA forecaster Elvie Enriquez said
"Ang SLPA ay nag-e-enhance sa southwest monsoon,"

As of 2 a.m. Wednesday (2012/06/13), shallow low-pressure area (SLPA) was estimated at 210 km east of Northern Mindanao.

Weather forecast:
  • Monsoon rains expected in Northern and Western Luzon including Metro Manila.
  • More flash floods and landslides expected in Mindanao.
  • Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Western Visayas.
‘Butchoy’ (international name: Guchol) is expected to hit the country on Thursday evening. It is the second typhoon of the year. Tropical storm Guchol is still in the Pacific Ocean.

papasok ito said Philippine Area of Responsibility Thursday
evening o Friday morning”

Earlier tropical storm Mawar (Ambo) killed three in Philippines.

Typhoon Kompasu kills 11 in Philippines

October 12, 2021: Typhoon Kompasu (called "Maring" in Philippines) has claimed lives of eleven people and left seven others missing in Philippines . More than 6,500 villagers have been evacuated from flood affected areas. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), fatalities have been reported from Benguet, Cagayan and Palawan province. The Philippines' National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) was on ALERT STATUS RED since the start of the natural disaster . According to the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD), Kompasu will make landfall in upper Vietnam on Wednesday or Thursday. Heavy rain is expected in Mukdahan, Nakhon Phanom, Sakon Nakhon and Bueng Kan provinces in Thailand.
