  • Flooding in Afghanistan
    -At least 37 people reported to be killed in massive flooding in northern Afghanistan.
    -Twenty four people killed in four districts, including the provincial capital of Chaghcharan and 13 other killed in Yaftal district.
    -Following the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, 135 houses in Badakhshan were destroyed.

  • Tornado in Kestell, South Africa
    -Two killed in tornado in Kestell, Free State, South Africa.
    -Around 55 houses reported to be damaged.
    -Kestell is a small maize farming town in the Free State province of South Africa.

  • M 3.4 weak shallow earthquake in Southern Texas (@ 5 m depth) with epienter located 14 km ESE of Tilden. Just a weak shaking will have felt by the people of Beeville, Alice and Robstown.

    Following USGS PAGER MAP, light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Keene, Alvarado, Joshua, Burleson, Cleburne and Rendon. Weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Fort Worth, Arlington, Dallas, Plano and Garland. Did you feel it?     M 3.5 moderate earthquake in Northern Texas (@ 5 km depth) after nine hours with epicenter located just 4 km NE from Keene. It will have well felt by the people of Alvarado, Burleson, Cleburne, Grandview, Cross Timber, Briaroaks, Fort Worth, Joshua, Keene, Venus and Dallas. Even as far as Wichita Falls and Dripping Springs. Did you feel it?
  • M 5.5 very strong shallow earthquake in Sichuan-Yunnan Border Region, China (@ 9 km depth) with epicenter located 53 km WSW of Qiaowa. It will have well felt by the people of Dayan, Xichang and Panzhihua.

    -Four people killed and more than 100 injured.
    -Three killed in Ninglang while another one in Yanyuan county in Sichuan.
    -A powerful earthquake hit Lijiang, a UNESCO world heritage site, in February 1996, killing 200 people and destroying thousands of mud-walled homes. An 8.0-magnitude quake rocked Sichuan province on May 12, 2008, killing tens of thousands and flattening swathes of the province.
  • M 6.1 strong earthquake near the East Coast of Kamchatka, Russia (@ 17 km depth) with epicenter located 268 km SSW from Il'pyrskiy. The populated residential area very far to cause any damage. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Ust'-Kamchatsk Staryy, Kljuci and Mohovaja.

Flooding List
  • Flash floods in Iran
    -
    Seven killed and 10 other reported to be injured in a severe flooding in Razavi Khorasan province of Iran.-Continuous heavy rainfall from several days caused flooding in several parts of northeastern Iranian province. Click for detail report on this Iranian flood.
  • Flooding in Carlisle, England
    -All train services between Carlisle and Glasgow or Edinburgh or between Maryport at Carlisle cancelled.
    -Rivers burst their banks in Croston and Darwen. Several people evacuated in Lancashire.

  • Flooding in Fraser Valley, British Columbia
    -Residents along the Fraser River floodplain in Abbotsford, B.C. were ordered to evacuate. State of local emergency declared.
    -Heavy rainfall forecast in the Kootenay, Okanagan, Monashee, Cariboo and Chilcotin regions.
    -About 1,000 forest firefighters are on standby to help place sandbags in the areas affected by flooding.

  • Tropical Storm Debby
    -As of 03:00 UTC, TS Debby was located 350 km SSE of the mouth of the Mississippi River.
    -A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect forthe coast of Louisiana from the mouth of the Pearl River westward to Morgan City.
    -Debby is expected to produce rain accumulations of 3 to 6 inches along the Gulf Coast from southern Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle.
    -According to NOAA, isolated tornadoes are possible over portions of the west-central and southwestern Florida Peninsula tonight and Sunday. Click for detail report on Tropical storm Debby.

    -Tornadoes reported near San Marco Road and U.S. 41 East today.
    -Power outage over Marco Island. No injury reported.
    -Marco Island is a city in Collier County, Florida, United States, located on an island by the same name in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Southwest Florida.
