  • Landslide in Guizhou, China
    -Three killed and other seven injured in a landslide in Kaili, a city in Southwest China's Guizhou province.
    -At least 81 houses in Zhouxi reported to be damaged.
    -In another news, heavy storms and flooding in Hunan province affected railway service.
  • Heavy storms in Perth, Australia
    -Heavy rainfall and winds of more than 120kmh reported in Perth.
    -A roof collapsed in North Beach Road, Tuart Hill.
    -Power outage in Belmont, Medina, Baywater, Trigg and Attadale.
    -According to Australian Bureau of Meteorology, dangerous winds are expected north of Mandurah, just south of Perth.

    -Ferries to Rottnest Island have been stopped.
    -Perth residents are being advised to turn electrical appliances off and stay away from windows.

  • M 4.1 light deep earthquake in Northern Colombia (@ 156 km depth) with epicenter 26 km S Floridablanca. Just a weak shaking of MMI II will have felt by the people of Jordán, Piedecuesta, Floridablanca and Bucaramanga.

  • M 5.8 strong earthquake in Dodecanese Islands, Greece (@ 40 km depth) with epicenter located 63 km E of Rhodes. Moderate to light shaking will have felt by the people of Fethiye, Goecek, Sarigerme, Dalaman, Ortaca, Dalyan and Rhodes. Weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Antalya, Aydin, Isparta and Samos.
    The highest rates of seismicity in the Mediterranean region are found along the Hellenic subduction zone of southern Greece, along the North Anatolian Fault Zone of western Turkey and the Calabrian subduction zone of southern Italy.

    Update 2
    -Seven people reported to be injured jumping from the building.
    -Earthquake lasted for 30 seconds in Fethiye, a tourist area in Mugla province.
    -Tremors were also felt strongly on the popular Greek island of Rhodes, which lies in the Aegean Sea - the part of the Mediterranean between Greece and Turkey.
    Update 1
    -The quake was felt as far as the Aegean port city of Izmir to the north and the Mediterranean city of Antalya to the east.
    -Tremors were felt even in parts of Turkey, Egypt, Lebanon and Cyprus.
    -According to the Athens Geodynamic Institute, earthquake of magnitude 5.8 struck beneath the Aegean Sea. No injury or damage reported.
  • M 3.0 weak shallow earthquake in Puerto Rico (@ 12 km depth) with epicenter located 4 km ESE from Maricao. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Sabana Grande, Liborio Negrón Torres, Ponce and San Juan.

  • M 4.6 moderate shallow earthquake in Honshu, Japan with epicenter located 45 km E Sakata. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Yuzawa, Akita, Yamagata and Sendai.

  • Flooding in Surat Thani, Thailand
    -More than 2000 people affected by flooding in the southern province of Surat Thani.
    -Hundreds of people evacuated after overflow of Tapi River. Evacuated people are taking shelter in temples and schools.
    -Several schools in Wang Wiset district closed.
    -There is high chance of landslides in slope areas.
  • Flooding in Rockies, Canada
    -Bow River is causing flooding concerns in the town of Canmore.
    -Following Environment Canada, heavy rainfall is expected in the Canmore region today.

  • Tropical storm Invest 93
    -Invest 93 is situated several hundred miles south-southwest of Acapulco, Mexico.
    -93E is predicted to move west-northwestward at 10 - 15 mph over the next several days.

  • Wildfire in Northern Colorado
    -Wildfire reported near the mountainous Paradise Park area about 25 miles northwest of Fort Collins.
    -Ten structures damaged. However no injury to people.
  • Tornado watch in Alberta, Canada
    -Tornado watch issued for Dayton Valley, Devon, Rimbey, Pidgeon Lake, Leduc, Camrose, Wetaskiwin, Tofield, Red Deer, Ponoka, Innisfail and Stettler.
