 Heavy storms and flooding in Florida
-A state of emergency declared for for most of the Gulf Coast because of Tropical Storm Debby.
-Tropical storm warning issued for the Florida Panhandle on down through the central west coast.
-Storm has left an estimated 35 000 people without power across Florida.
-A six-kilometre bridge spanning Tampa Bay that connects the city of St Petersburg with the Bradenton area reported to be closed.
-Following hurricane center, more tornadoes are possible in parts of Florida and southern Georgia.
-Flash flood warning issued for Northeastern Bradford, baker, Columbia, Hamilton, Suwannee Union, Southern Charlton, Duval and Nassau county across Florida and Georgia.
-Tropical storm Alberto in 1994 killed 30 people and massive flooding disaster over Georgia and Alabama.

  COLUMBIA COUNTY IN NORTHERN FLORIDA
  HAMILTON COUNTY IN NORTHERN FLORIDA
  SUWANNEE COUNTY IN NORTHERN FLORIDA
  UNION COUNTY IN NORTHERN FLORIDA
  SOUTHERN CHARLTON COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST GEORGIA
  DUVAL COUNTY IN NORTHEAST FLORIDA
  NASSAU COUNTY IN NORTHEAST FLORIDA

* AT 112 AM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  VERY HEAVY RAIN CONTINUING ACROSS THE WARNING AREA. A PERSISTENT
  BAND OF HEAVY RAIN EXTENDED FROM SUWANNEE COUNTY EASTWARD ACROSS
  COLUMBIA...BAKER...SOUTHERN CHARLTON...NASSAU...AND NORTHERN DUVAL.
  THIS BAND IS YIELDING RAINFALL RATES OF ONE TO TWO INCHES PER
  HOUR...OVER AN AREA THAT HAS RECEIVED 6 TO 10 INCHES OF RAIN.
  AN ADDITIONAL 2 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN IS EXPECTED THROUGH 5 AM ACROSS
  A LARGE PART OF THE WARNING AREA. SIGNIFICANT FLOODING IS EXPECTED
  ACROSS THE WARNING AREA...CAUSING ROAD CLOSURES. TRAVEL IS NOT
  ADVISED ACROSS THE WARNING AREA.
