  • Severe Flooding in Fiji
    -Heavy rainfall caused bursting of river banks (Viti Levu) resulting in flash flood
    -Severe flood warning issued for Nadi region
    -The Fire Service used boats to evacuated people
    -Flood affected people are living in 11 evacuation centers
    -Flights to and from Nadi have been cancelled
    -Recent heavy rainfall is caused by a shallow tropical depression located west-southwest of Nadi

    Several
    air pacific flights to and from Nadi have been cancelled for March 31st 2012. Flights from Honolulu, Port Vila and Hong Kong to Nadi have been cancelled. Similarly outbound flights to Auckland, Port Vila, Sydney and Hong Kong have also been cancelled.

    Hundreds of people stranded on their rooftops in Nadi are asking for help
  • Wildfire in Jefferson, Colorado
    -Two killed and one injured by wildfire in the mountains southwest of Denver. Both the fatalities are above 75
    -One woman is said to be missing whose house is already destroyed by fire. Rescue team of 32 members with 6 dogs are searching the woman
    -More than 180 families evacuated as a precaution
    -More than 500 firefighters along with 4 helicopters fighting the blaze
    -The fire is 45 percent contained
  • Storm in Kathmandu, Nepal
    -Heavy dust storm, thundering, lightning with moderate rainfall reported in Kathmandu, Nepal
    -Wind blew off roof of several houses
    -The dust storm made the visibility very poor
    -Windstorm is among the major natural disaster in Nepal

  • M 4.0 moderate very shallow earthquake in Bulgaria (@ 3 km depth) with epicenter located just 10 km S Sliven. Moderate shaking of MMI V will have felt by the people of Sliven. Sliven is the eighth-largest city in Bulgaria.
    Light to weak shaking will have experienced by the people of Stara zagora.

  • M 5.4 strong earthquake in Chaipas, Mexico (@ 40 km depth) with epicenter located 65 km SW Acapetahua. Moderate shaking of MMI V will have felt by the people of Mapastepec, Acapetahua and Tapachula. Weak shaking will have by the people of  Quetzaltenango and Huehuetenango region of Guatemala.

  • M 3.2 weak shallow earthquake in Ukraine-Romania-Moldova border region (@ 13 km depth) with epicenter located 9 km SE Turcoaia. Light to weak shaking will have experienced by the people of Macin, Braila and Turcoaia.

  • M 4.6 moderate deep earthquake in Veracruz, Mexico (@ 137 km depth) today with epicenter located  46 km SSW from Las Choapas. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Minatitlán and Las choapas, Mexico.

  • M 4.1 moderate shallow earthquake in Northern Algeria (@ 10 km depth) with epicenter located  24 km W Qalmah. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Azzabah and Qalmah.

  • M 4.7 moderate shallow earthquake in Maule, Chile today with epicenter located 54 km far from Talca. Light shaking of MMI IV will have felt by the people of Talca. Weak shaking will have experienced by the people of Cauquenes and Curico.
    It is the aftershock of earlier M 7.1 very strong Talca quake.

    People of Alpine, La Mesa,Bonsall,Carlsbad,El Cajon, Escondido, Fallbrook, Escondido, Lakeside, Oceanside, Pauma Valley, Poway, Ramona, San Marcos, Santee, Valley Center, Vista, San Diego, Aguanga, Hemet, Temecula of California will have experienced weak shaking.

  • M 5.1 moderate shallow earthquake near the East Coast of Honshu, Japan (@ 37 km depth) with epicenter located 25 km E Haramachi. Weak shaking will have felt by the peopleof Fukushima and Sendai.
    JMA mentions M 5.0 @ 50 km depth in Fukushima-ken Oki region.

    -The last significant eruption on Cleveland was on December 29, 2011

Tropical Cyclone List
  • Red Tropical Cyclone alert is issued in Vietnam for PAKHAR-12. It has strengthen to Typhoon (Cat 1). By late tomorrow, it will make landfall in Vietnam. Following recent forecast, it will continue as a Cat 1, tropical cyclone till April 1.
    Pakhar will enter Cambodia by April 3, where it will weaken to just a tropical depression.
