July 12, 2013: A rare earthquake measuring 5.9 in magnitude has been recorded in North Korea. The earthquake in North Korea today occurred at a greater depth of 559km. The epicenter was located 181 km ESE of Hoemul-li and 190km ESE of Chongjin in the Sea of Japan. Earlier, North Korea causes most of the seismic events occurred in North Korea due to underground nuclear bomb tests . But based on current location and depth, the initial indications showed that the earthquake was not caused by a North Korean nuclear test.

June 23, 2017: At least two policemen have been killed and two others have been missing as landslide near Kalikhola along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section swept away a van carrying four police personnel. The police van and a truck plying the road were suddenly hit by landslide near Kalikhola at 1:05 am., The Himalayan Times reported.

June 21, 2017: One person died in Dhunibesi Municipality-5 in Dhading district as magnitude 3.2 earthquake struck Chitlang of Makawanpur district on Wednesday. A labour working at a brick factory in Dhunibesi died after bricks fell on him following a tremor at 10:25 am, The Himalayan Times reported.
