Landslide in Lele, Lalitpur, Nepal kills 4, injures 3

A landslide at Mahadev Khola, Lele-4 in Lalitpur district of Nepal has claimed lives of atleast four people and injured three others, The Republica Daily reported. The landslide hit a quarry while they were working at the stone mine. Injured people are having treatment at B & B Hospital, Tikabhairav-based Ananda Ban Hospital and  Jawalakhel-based Alka Hospital. Tsunami hits Fukushima – Seismologist says 'Japan earthquake 2011 aftershocks'

A minor tsunami of 20 centimetres (7.8 inches) has been observed in Ishinomaki, Miyagi prefecture, and Ofunato, Iwate prefecture of Japan after magnitude 6.8 earthquake hit the region, the Japan Meteorological Agency said. Tidal waves of 10 cm were also logged in the city of Soma located about 40 km north of the Fukushima No. 1 plant, the agency said. The quake was registered at level four on the Japan's seismic scale of 7 in some parts of Fukushima prefecture. "Today's tremor was aftershock of 2011 quake", Japan Today has written quoting the seismologist Yasuhiro Yoshida of the Japan Meteorological Agency. "There are fears that relatively large earthquakes will occasionally occur in the ocean area where aftershocks of the great earthquake continue," the seismologist Yasuhiro Yoshida added. According to the British Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located 15 km west of Jersey, Channel islands. It was 7.4 miles deep. Yunnan landslides leave 6 dead, 17 missing

Landslides in Yunnan Province of China have claimed lives of at least six people and left 17 others missing, Xinhua News Agency reported. Landslide at around 2 a.m. in Minzhu Village, Yunlong County, killed six people. Another landslide struck a silicon mining site in Shawa Village, Fugong County and left 17 others missing. They are expected to swept into the Nujiang River, which is about 500 meters from the site. Around 61 people in Yunnan have been killed or were missing due to disasters brought by heavy rain as of June 30, Xinhua mentioned quoting the provincial meteorological bureau. Violent hailstorm in Bulgaria's capital Sofia kills 1, injures 40

A severe hailstorm in Bulgaria's capital city of Sofia has claimed life of a 70-year-old pedestrian and injured 40 others, The Sofia News Agency reported. The storm knocked down a tree on the pedestrian in the park Borisova Gradina. Injured people are having treatment in the emergency center of the Pirogov hospital. According to the Sofia News Agency, the central district of Stochna Gara has been flooded and traffic there has been completely blocked. Many buildings have been flooded, including the Sofia Emergency care main building. Hundreds of owners of damaged cars have been queuing for hail storm insurance claims, The Sofia News Agency added. Severe storms in Smithfield and Maryland kill 5

Severe storms in United States have claimed lives of at least five people and left hundreds of thousands of people without power in New York and Pennsylvania. Four people died in Smithfield, a town between Syracuse and Utica in New York state. Storm at a church summer camp near Manchester, Maryland claimed life of a boy and injured eight other children, The Reuters reported.
