Flash flood claims 6 in Khyber Agency, Pakistan

Flash flood has claimed lives of at least six people including three children in Speen Qabr in Bara Tehsil of Khyber Agency, Dunya News Network reported. Flood water washed away a pickup crossing a nulla carrying 3 women and 3 children. Several motor boats have been send to the flood affected areas of Nowshera and Peshawar, a Disaster Management official said. At least fifteen camps have been set up in different schools for the displaced people. Kabul River at Nowshera is in peak, Flood Cell Peshawar has added. Roof collapse in Lahore Pakistan claimed lives of four people yesterday. Flood emergency was declared in the district by emergency management officials. 4 killed in roof collapse in Lahore, flood emergency declared

At least four people have died in roof collapse due to heavy raining in Lahore, Pakistan. Roof collapse occurred at Kamahan road in the area of Niazi Chowk where three members of same family lost their lives. Separate rain-related incident killed another. Flood emergency has been declared in the district by emergency management officials. Three others are having  treatment at General Hospital. Malaysia storm kills 2, more than 100 houses destroyed in Seberang Perai

At least two people died and five other were injured in storm in Penang, Malaysia. A 24m-high telecommunication antenna fell due to storm and damaged around eight vehicles. Injured people are having treatment at Penang Hospital. Malaysia Meteorological Department had forecast strong winds up to 50 km/hr in the state. Storm cleanup was immediately started by Penang Island Municipal Council workers. Philippines landslide claims 10-year-old boy

Landslide in Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte, Philippines has claimed life of a 10-year-old boy, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported. Landslide hit a group of nine children on their way home Wednesday afternoon. Eight others remain unharmed. Landslide was caused by heavy rainfall in the Davao region. Torrential rains have also caused flooding in parts of Metro Manila . Flooded areas has suspended classes and the Philippine National Railways has also closed its operations. PAGASA has expected 2 to 3 cyclones in Philippines this month which may cause flash floods and landslides. Landslide is a common natural disaster in Philippines . 15,000 tourists stranded due to landslide in Uttarakhand

Around 15,000 tourists were stranded along Rishikesh-Gangotri National Highway, following a landslide in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India, a disaster management official said. Thousands of tourists and pilgrims in 900 different buses were stranded for over 16 hours before being rescued by Border Road Organisation personnel. Landslide washed away part of Rishikesh-Gangotri highway along the Maneri Sainji village which is highly landslide-prone area. More than 15 hours continuous rainfall also caused flooding in the Bhagirathi river. Severe weather has also affected communication network in the area. People even could not contact state disaster management department for help as cell phones are out of coverage, The Times of India has written quoting local villagers.
