M 3.3 quake hits San Fulgencio, Spain

M 3.3 weak earthquake hits San Fulgencio, Spain today, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre reported. According to the EMSC, the quake's epicenter was located 3 km NE of Formentera de Segura. It was 10 km deep. Earthquake occured in Torrevieja area (San Fulgencio) of Spain. This is the second weak earthquake today in the San Fulgencio region. Flooded areas in Metro Manila today

Torrential rains have flooded parts of Metro Manila today, Flood Control and Information Center of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said. Around 35-40 centimeter flood water has been recorded along EspaƱa. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority received the first flooding report from Maceda. Flooded areas has suspended classes and the Philippine National Railways has also closed its operations. In the latest bulletin issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), more rain and thunderstorms are predicted in Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Zambales and Bataan. Assam heat wave kills 6, highest temperature in 33 years

Recent heat wave has claimed lives of at least six people in Assam in last 24 hours, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) said. Fatalities are from Barak Valley, Nagaon district and Guwahati region of Assam, India. Temperature of 38.5 degrees Celsius was recorded on Wednesday in Guwahati which is the highest in the last 33 years. Earlier in 1979, 38.4 degrees Celsius temperature was recorded in the state. All private and government schools in Kamrup (Metro) district are closed for next two days. Hot weather conditions are expected to continue for the next 48 hours. Queensland, Australia storm destroys houses

Heavy storm has destroyed at least six houses in the Pratten area, southwest of Brisbane, Queensland. The supercell storm hit Pratten area of Queensland about 9 pm (AEST). State Emergency Service (SES) and Bureau of Meteorology forecaster expects it to be a tornado but it is yet to be officially confirmed. Disaster cleanup has already started. Lightning in Bulgaria kills 1, injures 2

Lightning near the Bulgarian town of Gotse Delchev, Southern Bulgaria has claimed life of a woman and injured two others. Thunderstorm and lightning hit them as they were taking shelter from the rain under a tree. Injured people are having treatment in a hospital in Sofia. They are out of danger. High risk of severe weather

Northern Illinois, Northern Indiana and Extreme Northwest Ohio have been upgraded to a High Risk for severe storms.   The National Weather Service has also predicted a 15 percent possibility of tornadoes in the area and may soon batter Chicago. This is the first High Risk issued by the Storm Prediction Center in 2013. There are only a few of these issued across country per year.
