UPDATE 12/21/2011 - Cable Bay road is now open to RESIDENTS ONLY -Beaches from Mapua to Kaiteriteri are open for swimming only . Ligar Bay, Pohara Beach and Tata beach remain closed to swimming, fishing and shellfish gathering. Rabbit Island beaches along with Monaco and Tahunanui main and back beach remain closed. -All public road access to the northern end of the Great Walk is closed over the Christmas /New Year period but it can be access by boat. - Richmon
