Yunnan landslides leave 6 dead, 17 missing

Landslides in Yunnan Province of China have claimed lives of at least six people and left 17 others missing, Xinhua News Agency reported. Landslide at around 2 a.m. in Minzhu Village, Yunlong County, killed six people. Another landslide struck a silicon mining site in Shawa Village, Fugong County and left 17 others missing. They are expected to swept into the Nujiang River, which is about 500 meters from the site. Around 61 people in Yunnan have been killed or were missing due to disasters brought by heavy rain as of June 30, Xinhua mentioned quoting the provincial meteorological bureau. 100 dead, around 100 injured in Afghanistan floods

Heavy rains and floods have claimed lives of more than 100 people and injured around 100 others in Gazargah-e-Noor district of the northern Baghlan province of Afghanistan, Xinhua reported quoting the district governor Noor Mohammad Gazar. According to the Ministry of Education (MoE),  fatalities include at least 16 school students. Flash floods have completely destroyed Yahoor High School building, Afghanistan Times reported. The flash floods have completely destroyed around 850 houses across several villages and damaged more than 1,000. All the roads leading to Gazargah-e-Noor district have been destroyed or badly damaged. According to the Afghanistan Natural Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA), at least 91 dead bodies have been recovered so far.
