March 3, 2019: The Ghana Geological Survey Authority (GGSA) has recorded a light earthquake of magnitude of 3.9 in Accra. The earthquake occurred Saturday at 11:22 pm and was felt in Weija, Gbawe and McCarthy Hill which is within the Ga South Municipality. Following the recent earthquakes in Ghana , President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has put the National Security and the Ministry of the Interior on alert for a possible earthquake as tremors increase. The two agencies have been asked to prepare for a national earthquake emergency plan with the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) as the coordinating agency that will minimize its impact if it occurs. Within three months, at least two major earth tremors in the capital city Accra, Africa Feeds reported.

Severe rainstorm in Yendi Municipality of Ghana has injured two children and made around 942 homeless with damage to dozens of houses and mosques. Flooding in Bunkpurugu, Ghana has claimed life of at least one person and displaced nearly six thousands people, local medias reported. About 700 houses have been submerged by the floods. Evacuated people are taking shelter in classrooms nearby. The district Secretariat of National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) is providing disaster relief materials, Modern Ghana reported.
