Emergency declared in flooded Russian Amur region

A state of emergency has been declared today in flooded eastern Amur region by the Russia's Ministry for Emergency Situations. Emergency was declared after Russian Emergency Situations Minister Vladimir Puchkov inspect the flood damage, Radio Free Europe reported. Wildfire near Athens, Greece burns 2 houses

Flooding in Kamala River in Sindhuli claims 7 lives

Flooding in Kamala River in Sindhuli district of Nepal has claimed lives of at least seven people Monday morning, local medias reported. They were on their way to worship Madhu Ganga Mahadev at Hatpate in the Sindhuli district, eKantipur reported. The locals, police and Army personnel rescued other thirteen pilgrims. 3 killed in Myanmar flooding, 33,500 sheltering in disaster relief camps

Myanmar flooding has claimed lives of at least three people and has send nearly 33,500 people in disaster relief camps. Rain triggered natural calamities have affected Karen and Mon State of Myanmar. The United Nations has delivered medical aid including water purification tablets to flood affected areas. The Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge over the Moei River has been closed due to heavy rainfall, the Disaster Relief Department said. Buenos Aires ecological reserve fire

A fire has burned an ecological reserve in Buenos Aires, the capital city of Argentina. At least eight firefighters are struggling to control the Buenos Aires ecological reserve fire. No injuries have been reported. Floods, landslide in Gorontalo, Indonesia: 4 killed, State of emergency declared

Floods and landslide in Gorontalo, Indonesia have claimed lives of at least four people and left three others missing, the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) said. Rain triggered natural calamities in Indonesia have damaged several buildings and displaced more than 600 residents. Heavy rainfall caused the Tongo River to overflow its banks and hit the Bone Pantai and Bulawa area. Road linking to Ombulo Hijau village, in Bone Pantai has been washed away. Tornadoes hit Antigua, storm damage assessments underway

Tropical storm Chantal has caused several tornadoes and waterspouts in Antigua. Tornadoes have uprooted trees, downed power lines and damaged several buildings and vehicles. Tornado damage has also been reported at Camp Blizzard army base and the Jumby Bay Resort. No injury has been reported. Heavy rain in Islamabad and Rawalpindi: Emergency at Nullah Lai

Emergency has been declared at nullah Lai after heavy rain hit Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Sunday morning. According to Flood Control Unit, 105 milimetre of rain has been recorded in the areas. Bad weather has also affected flights at the Benazir International Airport, Dunya news reported. Met Office has predicted more rains in Islamabad and Rawalpindi in next 24 hours. Flood traps 100 school students in Tianshui, China

At least 100 middle school students and teachers have been trapped in their school due to a flood, Xinhua reported. Students and teachers were trapped as flood washed away the only bridge linking the Maiji Junior Middle School to the outside. Floods have also damaged school gate and walls. However no injury has been reported. According to an official of Education Bureau Maiji District, Middle School, a boarding school with dormitories and cafeterias has enough food for two to three days. The Lanzhou Central Meteorological Station has issued a red alert in the area. Gansu is at high risk of rainstorm-triggered floods and geological disasters. Another flooding and landslides in Xinjiang, China have claimed lives of at least two people and affected 45,000 others. A circular by the National Commission for Disaster Reduction today has urged related departments to step up monitoring and early warning for possible disasters.
