Avalanche in Afghanistan's Badakhshan province kills 12

An avalanche in Afghanistan's Badakhshan Province  has claimed lives of at least twelve people. The disaster occurred in Raghistan district last night which also injured two others, Bakhtar News Agency has written quoting Ahmad Jaweed Jaweed, member of provincial council and people representative in Raghistan district. Heavy snowfall has also destroyed ten houses in Raghistan district.

100 dead, around 100 injured in Afghanistan floods

Heavy rains and floods have claimed lives of more than 100 people and injured around 100 others in Gazargah-e-Noor district of the northern Baghlan province of Afghanistan, Xinhua reported quoting the district governor Noor Mohammad Gazar. According to the Ministry of Education (MoE),  fatalities include at least 16 school students. Flash floods have completely destroyed Yahoor High School building, Afghanistan Times reported. The flash floods have completely destroyed around 850 houses across several villages and damaged more than 1,000. All the roads leading to Gazargah-e-Noor district have been destroyed or badly damaged. According to the Afghanistan Natural Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA), at least 91 dead bodies have been recovered so far. Flash flooding in Afghanistan kills 3, washes away hundreds of houses

Flash flooding in Afghanistan has claimed lives of at least three people, Pajhwok Afghan News reported. Fatalities are from  Baghlan, Bamyan and Badakhshan provinces of Afghanistan. Flash floods washed away hundreds of houses in three different provinces. Disaster relief aid have been send to the area, Pajhwok Afghan News reported quoting The Afghanistan Natural Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA). According to the Governor of Badakhshan, more than 2,500 people were killed and more than 300 homes were buried under rocks and mud due to a landslide in northern Badakhshan province of Afghanistan some days earlier. Flash floods in Afghanistan claim 100 plus lives

Flash floods in northern Afghanistan have claimed lives more than 100 people, the national disaster management authority told AFP. According to the national disaster management authority, fatalities are from Jowzjan province, Faryab, Sar-e-Pul and Badghis provinces of Afghanistan. United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is however mentioning 123 fatalities with atleast 80 from Jowzjan province alone. Flash floods have destroyed nearly 2,000 houses in Faryab province. This is what Mohammad Sadeq Sediqqi, the national disaster management authority told AFP "Unfortunately, we have over 100 people killed and dozens of others missing due to flash floods in four northern provinces" Food and other emergency supplies have been send to the disaster area. Afghanistan Nationwide Ulema Council (ANUC) has requested National Disasters Management Authority (NDMA), Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) and other local and international institutions

4 killed, 20 missing in Afghanistan flood landslide

Flood and landslide in Afghanistan have claimed lives of four people and left twenty others missing. Heavy flood triggered landslide in Askitol village in Zibak district of Afghanistan. Afghanistan Flood 2013 kills 69, National Disaster Management says

Heavy rains and flooding in Afghanistan have claimed lives of sixty nine people over the weekend, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said today. Floods have destroyed hundreds of houses and injured 11 others. Floods hit nine eastern and southeastern provinces of Afghanistan including Kabul, Ghazni, Wardak, Kapisa and Khost provinces, deputy to country's National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Mohammad Aslam Sayad told Xinhua News. Floods in Laghman, Afghanistan injures 2: Natural Disaster Management Committee

Flooding in Laghman province of Afghanistan has injured at least two people, Natural Disaster Management Committee said today. Two hours continuous rainfall caused heavy rainfall in Laghman and damaged dozens of homes. Floods in Khost, Afghanistan claim 2

Recent floods in southeast Khost province of Afghanistan have claimed lives of two people, Pajhwok Afghan News reports. Following the Afghanistan Natural Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA), flooding claimed lives of a 10 years old girl and an elder man. Floods damaged thousands of acres of farmland too. Seasonal flooding in Afghanistan's Baghlan province kills a child, damages 50 houses

Seasonal flooding in Afghanistan's Baghlan province has killed a child and damaged around 50 houses, Pajhwok Afghan News mentions. The boy died and mother wounded in a house collapse in Jalgah district of Afghanistan. Floods also damaged around 500 acres of crops. Flood in Shamraq and Boghawi areas have damaged several roads. Hailstorm at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan claims 3

Update According to Fox News, up to 50 U.S. and Coalition military helicopters have been badly damaged in a hailstorm at Kandahar Airfield in Afghanistan. A huge hailstorm with rock-sized hailstones have claimed lives of three Afghans, The Telgraph mentions. The half-hour storm caused damage of millions of pounds at Kandahar Airfield. Hailstorm also grounded several British aircraft. Kandahar Airfield, built by United States is located 10 miles south-east of Kandahar City in Afghanistan. Update Death toll has risen to 23. At least 120 people are reported to be injured in Nangarhar and Kunar region of Afghanistan. Flooding in Balkh, Afghanistan has claimed lives of thirteen people including two children, Xinhua News mentions. Flooding occurred in Sholgara and Kashandi districts in northern Balkh province of Afghanistan. Flooding in Balkh also washed away two schools and a clinic. Flash floods in Faryab region of Afghanistan has claimed lives of seven people, Pajhwok Afghan News mentions. Heavy rainfall has caused flooding in Garzewan, Balcheragh and Pashtonkot districts of Afghanistan. Floods destroyed more than 70 houses. Flooding in Helmand, Afghanistan

Flooding in Helmand region of Afghanistan has damaged several houses and caused huge financial losses. Heavy rainfall caused flash flooding in Sangin, Kajaki, Greskh, Marja, Nad Ali and Nawa districts of Afghanistan, Pajhwok Afghan News mentions. Around 200 families displaced by recent flood in Helmand are living in temporary refuge in Lashkargah city, the capital of Helmand province along with 1200 other families.
