280 people died as flooding and landslide hit Perak, Malaysia

Flooding and landslide in Perak, Malaysia have claimed lives of at least 280 people.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department director Yahya Madif revised the toll to 280 from 315 individuals Saturday morning.

According to Bernama, Malaysian National News Agency, there are still 53 flood victims from 14 families being housed at Sekolah Kebangsaan Changkat Lobak involving Kampung Changkat Lobak, Matang Tengah and Kampung Air Hitam.

Continuous downpour has caused the water level to rise between 0.2 metre to 0.9 metre in the affected areas due to the overflowing river nearby.
