  • Landslide in Kalaw, Myanmar
    -Landslide in Kalaw, Myanmar has claimed lives of at least 16 people.
    -According to an emergency and disaster management officer for Myanmar’s Red Cross,  landslide occurred in Nyaung Kone and Taung Palt villages in Shwe Twin Kone village at about 1 am after heavy rain. Click for detail report on Myanmar landslide.
  • Flooding in Argau, Switzerland
    -Flooding caused by heavy rainfall has claimed life of one woman in Argau region of Switzerland.

Recent Earthquakes 
  • M 5.5 moderate deep earthquake in Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia (@ 153 km depth) with epicenter located 77 km WSW of Paratunka. People of Paratunka, Yelizovo, Vilyuchinsk, Ozernovskiy and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy will have felt just a weak shaking of MMI III.

  • M 3.2 weak shallow earthquake in Santa Monica Bay, California (@ 13 km depth) with epicenter located 5 km S from Malibu. It will have well felt by the people of Los Angeles, Culver City, El Segundo, Malibu, Venice, Marina del Rey, Santa Monica, Agoura Hills, Woodland Hills and North Hollywood.

    -Heavy storm has caused flash floods in
    Klang Valley of Malaysia.
    -Jalan Duta-Mahameru and Jalan Parlimen areas are worst affected by the flood.
    -Following Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel (SMART), tunnel has been closed.
  • Flooding in Florida
    -The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for southern Florida.
    Heavy storm caused flight delays in both Broward and Miami-Dade. Miami International Airport cancelled 11 flights.
    -A tornado touched down in Boca Raton.
