Puerto Vallarta earthquake today measures 4.2 in magnitude

February 2, 2020: Magnitude 4.2 light earthquake has been recorded in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico today at 01:37 am. According to the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), the quake's epicenter was located 12 km Southwest of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. The earthquake occurred at 17 km depth. No damage or injuries have been reported from the earthquake in Puerto Vallarta today.

Mexico: Popocatepetl volcano last eruption spews ash 9,800ft high

January 10, 2020: Mexico's Popocatépetl volcano erupted on Thursday with lava and cloud of ash and rocks that reached 9,800ft (3,000m) into the sky. National Civil Protection Coordination of Mexico has issued a yellow alert for the area around San Nicolás de los Ranchos. According to the Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Washington, the Popocatépetl volcano monitoring network detected 268 exhalations, 90 minutes of tremors, and 3 volcano-tectonic earthquakes. Popocatepetl volcano last eruption caused light ashfall in the State of Mexico; Ozumba; Puebla; San Nicolás de los Ranchos; Chiautzingo; San Matías Tlalpaneca, and Teotlalzingo.
