However, no injuries or fatalities have been reported till now. July 31, 2022: Magnitude 6.0 strong earthquake has been recorded in Khotang district of eastern Nepal at 08:13 am (02:28 UTC) Sunday morning at a shallow depth of 10 km. According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center (NEMRC), the earthquake epicenter was located in Mattim Birta, north of Khotang Bazar. Moderate earthquake of MMI V was felt by the most of the people of eastern areas of Nepal including Khadbari, Dharan, Inaruwa, Itahari, Lahan, Biratnagar and Jhapa. Light to weak tremor of MMI IV-III was felt by the people of Bharatpur, Pokhara, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Kirtipur and Lalitpur. The tremor was even felt by the people of India and

July 28, 2022: The Fujairah Port has witnessed the highest amount of rain in the country in 27 years with a record of 221.8 mm rainfall. The rainfall was accompanied by hailstorm and lightning in Al Bithnah Road towards Masafi and with lightning and thunderstorm in Fujairah International Airport, Suhaila in Sharjah and Al Manama in Ajman, Gulf Today reported. Around 3,897 people have been placed in temporary shelter in Sharjah and Fujairah. According to the National Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (Ncema), hotels have capacity to accommodate an additional 1,885 people. The National Centre of Meteorology issued a safety alert regarding the flood-hit areas of Sharjah and Fujairah. For any emergency, the public have been asked to call 999.

July 28, 2022: Meta (formerly Facebook) hosted a disaster preparedness summit in Escondido in partnership with Ready San Diego, the City of Escondido, Red Cross of San Diego and Imperial Counties, and the California Office of Emergency Services. Participants were shared with the best practices for digital communication before, during, and after a disaster or crisis.  The disaster preparedness summit  was attended by representatives from 18 cities and tribes and learned  how Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp are working to be a streamlined form of communication between first responders, local government and businesses, CBS8 reported. 

July 29, 2022: Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued high flood alert for  Chenab river today. According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, high flood in river Chenab is expected at Marala Headworks in Sialkot district, Khanki headworks in Gujranwala district and Qadirabad headworks in Mandi Bahauddin district. Flooded Chenab river is flowing above danger mark at Akhnoor.

July 28, 2022: Flash flooding and landslides have claimed lives of at least seven people near Tehran, emergency services in Iran said. According to the Iranian Red Crescent, 14 people have been injured with displacement of more than 500 people. Floods and landslides have buried parts of Imamzadeh Davood with four meters (13 feet) of mud. Last week, flooding in South of Iran killed 22 people.

July 28, 2022: Landslides triggered by incessant rainfall have briefly disrupted the annual Amarnath Yatra after the closure of the 270-km-long Jammu-Srinagar national highway. According to the officials at the traffic department, the incessant rainfall triggered landslides in Panthyal and Mehad stretches of Jammu-Srinagar national highway. Flash floods and landslides have been reported in Jammu, Kathua, Poonch, Rajouri, Udhampur and Reasi districts. All government and private schools in Jammu have been closed. According to traffic police advisory, people are advised not to travel on Jammu-Srinagar highway without confirmation.
