Earthquake in Kos, Greece today kills 2 and injures 200 others

July 21, 2017: Magnitude 6.5 magnitude quake struck overnight between Bodrum and Greek islands killing at least two people on the island of Kos and injuring 200 others in Greek and Turkish coastal towns. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10 km below the seabed – off the south-western coastal city of Marmaris in Muğla province.

Magnitude 5.9 rare earthquake in North Korea today

July 12, 2013: A rare earthquake measuring 5.9 in magnitude has been recorded in North Korea.  The earthquake in North Korea today occurred at a greater depth of 559km. The epicenter was located 181 km ESE of Hoemul-li and 190km ESE of Chongjin in the Sea of Japan. Earlier, North Korea causes most of the seismic events occurred in North Korea due to underground nuclear bomb tests . But based on current location and depth, the initial indications showed that the earthquake was not caused by a North Korean nuclear test.

M 5.8 earthquake hits Lincoln, Montana

July 6, 2017: An earthquake measuring 5.8 in magnitude hit just after midnight about 6 miles southeast of Lincoln, Montana. The earthquake occurred at 12:30 am at a shallow depth of 13km.

Nine killed in floods, landslides across Nepal in 2 days

July 3, 2017: At least nine people have been dead due to floods and landslides across the nation in last two days. Two people died in landslides in Kaski, three in Parbat, three in Tehrathum and one in Pyuthan. Three persons have been still missing in Mugu and one in Kaski after river outburst.

5.1 magnitude earthquake in Okhaldhunga shakes Kathmandu, Nepal

July 2, 2017: Nepal Seismological center has recorded magnitude 5.1 moderate earthquake with its epicenter in Okhaldhunga. The quake was recorded at 07:43 am near Tundikhel area of Okaldhunga bazar.
