Magnitude 4.1 earthquake hit near Borrego Springs, Southern California at 06:02 am Sunday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located 11km NE of Borrego Springs. It was 7.4 miles deep.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS), which monitors earthquakes across the world, estimated it is most likely that 0 to 5 earthquakes from magnitude 5 to 6 will occur and that the chance of at least one such aftershock is about 62%. USGS expects the event to occur within the month of May 27 to June 26, 2015.
