Shiveluch Volcano in Russia spews ash up to 5 km

Shiveluch Volcano in Russia spewed ash up to a height of 5 km, Emergencies Ministry Department said today. The current Shiveluch eruption poses no immediate threat to nearby settlements. However the clouds of volcanic ash could pose threat to air traffic, emergency service said. Most recent shiveluch volcano eruption started on August 1999, and continues as of 2013. Shiveluch is the northernmost active volcano in Kamchatka Krai, Russia. Klyuchi is the nearest settlement from the volcano located 50 km far. Original post: Natural Disasters List August 5, 2013

Kingston tornado damages 25 houses

Tornado in Kingston, Australia has damaged at least 25 houses, local medias reported. The Kingston tornado also damaged trees and power lines and left 1140 customers without power. Kingston tornado damage has been reported from minor to major roof damage with no reports of injuries. The State Emergency Service has sent support crews to Kingston. Southern Philippines landslide, flood claim 2, displace 37,000

Landslide in Zamboanga City in the southern Philippines has claimed lives of at least two people, police and emergency workers said. Landslide hit the children, a 6-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy in Zamboanga City. Floods in Mindanao have displaced as many as 37,000 people, Philippine Daily Inquirer has written quoting the civil defense office. Hailstorm hits Aragatsotn, Armenia

Hailstorms in Nigavan, Lusagyugh, Saralanj and Aparan area of Aragatsotn province of Armenia lasted for 15 minutes. Armenia hailstorm damage is being assessed, Ministry of Emergency Situations said. Sudan flooding kills 10

Recent flooding in Sudan has claimed lives of at least ten people, local medias reported. People of Khartoum, Red Sea, Sinnar and North and South Darfur have been affected by floods. Sudan flooding has also blocked road between Khartoum and the Red sea, Africa Review reported. An emergency situation has been called by North Darfur local government. Flooding in North Darfur state has left around 2,000 families homeless and flooded El Fasher hospital. Sudan Meteorological Authority has predicted heavy rain till next week in all parts of the country. The 2007 Sudan flooding had claimed lives of at least 64 people. Arlington tornado 2013 injures 1, damages 20 buildings

EF2 tornado hit Arlington area of Jacksonville late Thursday afternoon, the National Weather Service said. At least one person was injured from falling debris. Arlington tornado damaged around 20 buildings, ABC News reported. Tornado damage is worst at Shadowood Apartments.
