Landslide in Nainital, India kills 6

Landslide in Nainital district of Uttarakhand, India has claimed lives of six people, local medias reported. Landslide triggered by heavy rainfall caused landslide in Bheemal area of Nainital and claimed lives of five people of a family and one other person. Indian Meteorological department has predicted more rainfall in Nainital. Similarly heavy downpour has disrupted rescue and rehabilitation work in Uttarakhand mainly in Kedarnath and Badrinath area. Landslides and flooding in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh have claimed 5,500 lives till now. At least 151 people had died in 1880 Nainital landslide. Floods, landslides in eastern Nepal claim 5

Floods and landslide in eastern Nepal have claimed lives of at least five people and left three others missing, Nepal News reported. According to regional police office, rain triggered natural calamities have claimed lives of two people and left three missing in different places of Jhapa district. Various organizations including Nepal Red Cross has started distributing flood relief materials to the victims. Others two people died in Udayapur district including a 72-year-old who was wept away by the flood waters. Flooding in Portaha VDC of Saptari district has affected around 1,200 houses. Meanwhile landslides have closed Bhedetar-Rajarani and Rajarani-Budhabare road. Rainfall triggered landslides have destroyed at least five houses in Dhankuta. An emergency meeting held by District Natural Disaster Control and Relief Committee, Morang has urged the government and non-government organizations to help in flood relief operations. Tornadoes hit Antigua, storm damage assessments underway

Tropical storm Chantal has caused several tornadoes and waterspouts in Antigua. Tornadoes have uprooted trees, downed power lines and damaged several buildings and vehicles. Tornado damage has also been reported at Camp Blizzard army base and the Jumby Bay Resort. No injury has been reported. Flooding, mudslide hits Colorado (with video)

Mudslides and flooding in Colorado shut down parts of a motorway for nearly three hours. Flooding and mudslides hit Waldo Canyon, Rainbow Falls and Cascade area. A Red Cross shelter was opened in Manitou Springs at Congregational Church, 103 Pawnee Ave. More than 100 people were evacuated from the mudslide area. There are no reports of injuries. Indonesia earthquake shakes Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

M 4.8 moderate earthquake hits Indonesia today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located 21 km ENE of Sibolga. It was 6.2 miles deep. Tremor was even felt across Malaysia including Kuala Lumpur.
