Norway Flooding 2013, expected worst since 1995!

Hundreds of people have been evacuated following mudslides and flooding in Norway. Worst hit is Gudbrandsdal Valley north of Lillehammer. Around 250 people have been evacuated at Kvam. Several others also evacuated in Hedmark, Oppland, Buskerud, Eidsvoll, Telemark, Otta, Eidsvoll, Aurdal and Nesbyen. Train services through Gudbrandsdalen and Ă˜sterdalen that connect Oslo and Trondheim have been closed, The Norwegian Railways (NSB) said. Norway flooding this year is expected to be worst since 1995, Views and News from Norway reported quoting officials. Major flood in south eastern Norway in 1995 cost about 1.8 billion NOK (200 mill USD). Minnesota's Lilydale Park landslide kills 1

One fourth grade student of Hobart Elementary School died and another went missing following a landslide in Lilydale Park, Peter Hobart Elementary School website reported. Landslide occurred during a Peter Hobart Elementary School 4th grade field trip to Lilydale Park. Firefighters and police officers rescued two other student from gravel slide. However one student is still reported missing and is presumed dead. Next trip scheduled for Thursday for a second group of 4th grade students has been cancelled. Environment Canada confirms EF2 tornado in Ontario

Environment Canada has confirmed that an EF2 tornado touched down in Glenarm, 12 km west of Fenelon Falls. EF2 tornado had wind speeds between 180 and 200 km/hour. Strong storms have damaged roofs of several houses. Earlier an EF1 tornado touched down in Canada on April 18, 2013 . There is need of better tornado warning system in Ontario, Huffington Post Canada writes quoting local residents. Around 80 tornadoes touch down in Canada each year. Canada is the second country in the world after US with the most tornadoes per year. North Dakota flooding 2013 forces evacuation of 1,300

Heavy rainfall has caused flooding in North Dakota forcing evacuations of 1,300 people, ND based Bismarck Tribune reported. North Dakota flooding has also closed state Highway 18 at Neche and near Cavalier, the state Transportation Department said. A flood evacuation shelter has been set up in Cavalier. Landslide, Flooding in Hong Kong

Heavy rainstorm has caused landslide and flooding in Hong Kong, Xinhua reported. The Hong Kong Observatory issued the Black rainstorm warning signal at around 4 a.m. local time which lasted for more than five hours. Black rainstorm warning which was issued for the first time in almost three years is the most severe of its three rain-alert signals in Hong Kong. About 200 millimetres of rainfall was recorded in Tseung Kwan O, The Hong Kong Observatory said. A total of 24 flooding reports and seven landslides incidents were reported in Hong Kong. Following Police and the Fire Services Department, floods were reported in Mong Kok, Kwun Tong, Po Lam, Tin Shui Wai and Sai Kung. Yuen Long is expected to be worst hit by floods.
