February 4, 2020: Recent flooding in southern Tanzania has claimed lives of 21 people. Floods have been affecting Lindi, Iringa, Ruvuma, Mtwara regions in southern Tanzania since January 27, 2020. The highest fatalities have been reported from southern district of Kilwa (Lindi Region) where at least 13 people have been died. Further, around 15,000 people have been displaced.

January 30, 2020: At least three people have been died and around 4,500 people have been left homeless after recent flash floods in Iringa and Lindi area of Tanzania. In Lindi, at least 4,500 people have been left homeless from six villages.
