M5.2 earthquake in Dolakha halts election vote counting

December 8, 2017: An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale hit Dolakha at 08:36 am local time, the Nepal Seismological Center reported. The earthquake occurred at shallow depth of 10 km, around 83 km east of Capital Kathmandu. It was very close to the district's headquarter Jiri.

Flooding in Koshi kills 9; Red light at Koshi barrage

August 12, 2017: Floods triggered by heavy rainfall for the past two days have claimed lives of nine people in Koshi zone of eastern Nepal. Two persons died in Bakraha and Nunsari Rivers in Morang district and rest others were swept away by the Budhi Khola at Gaurigaun in Sunsari district of Koshi zone.

Nine killed in floods, landslides across Nepal in 2 days

July 3, 2017: At least nine people have been dead due to floods and landslides across the nation in last two days. Two people died in landslides in Kaski, three in Parbat, three in Tehrathum and one in Pyuthan. Three persons have been still missing in Mugu and one in Kaski after river outburst.

5.1 magnitude earthquake in Okhaldhunga shakes Kathmandu, Nepal

July 2, 2017: Nepal Seismological center has recorded magnitude 5.1 moderate earthquake with its epicenter in Okhaldhunga. The quake was recorded at 07:43 am near Tundikhel area of Okaldhunga bazar.

Landslide near Kalikhola along Narayangadh-Muglin road kills 2

June 23, 2017: At least two policemen have been killed and two others have been missing as landslide near Kalikhola along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section swept away a van carrying four police personnel. The police van and a truck plying the road were suddenly hit by landslide near Kalikhola at 1:05 am., The Himalayan Times reported.

Earthquake in Chitlang kills 1, injures other in Dhading

June 21, 2017: One person died in Dhunibesi Municipality-5 in Dhading district as magnitude 3.2 earthquake struck Chitlang of Makawanpur district on Wednesday. A labour working at a brick factory in Dhunibesi died after bricks fell on him following a tremor at 10:25 am, The Himalayan Times reported.

Mud collapse in Sarlahi, Nepal kills 4

April 30, 2017: At least four people died and three others injured after a mud collapse on the bank of Banke River in Sarlahi district of Nepal. The local police have identified the victims as Rammati Mahato, Pabita Devi Mahato, Abhisekh Mahato and Anshu Kumari Mahato including two children.

Two moderate tremors recorded in Ramechhap, Nepal

February 27, 2017: At least two moderate earthquake have been recorded in Ramechhap district of central Nepal in less than an hour. The first earthquake was of magnitude 4.6 at 9:22 am. Another magnitude 4.7 moderate earthquake hit Ramechhap district of central Nepal at 10:06 am local time Monday morning. According to the Nepal Seismological Center, both were  aftershocks of 2015 Gorkha earthquake . The epicenter was located east of Manthali at a shallow depth of 10 km. No preliminary damage or injuries have been reported. At least 478 aftershocks of magnitude 4 and greater have been recorded since April 2015.

M4.4 tremor hits Dolakha, Nepal

February 4, 2017: An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 hit Lapilang area of Dolakha district at 5:58pm Saturday evening. According to the Nepal Seismological Center, the epicenter was located SE of Kalinchowk Bhagwati temple. Last earthquake in Dolakha was around four months ago, on October 12, 2016. It is an aftershock of 2015 Gorkha earthquake . At least 476 aftershocks of magnitude 4 and greater have been recorded since the deadly earthquake.

Nepal: Sinkhole opens up near Hilton construction site, Naxal

January 8, 2017: A huge sinkhole suddenly opened up on the road near constructing Hotel Hilton in Naxal, Kathmandu. According to the local medias, the sinkhole opened due to excessive digging for the construction of Hotel Hilton. The traffic has been halted along the area as nearly half of the road caved in.
