A twitter handle Gemini mentioned that, "Few days ago, people here in Hong Kong panicked because of the news escalated on Facebook that a 7.0 magnitude earthquake will gonna hit today." The news soon became viral after the South China Morning Post tweeted about a mega earthquake hitting Hong Kong this week. Heavy rainstorm has caused landslide and flooding in Hong Kong, Xinhua reported. The Hong Kong Observatory issued the Black rainstorm warning signal at around 4 a.m. local time which lasted for more than five hours. Black rainstorm warning which was issued for the first time in almost three years is the most severe of its three rain-alert signals in Hong Kong. About 200 millimetres of rainfall was recorded in Tseung Kwan O, The Hong Kong Observatory said. A total of 24 flooding reports and seven landslides incidents were reported in Hong Kong. Following Police and the Fire Services Department, floods were reported in Mong Kok, Kwun Tong, Po Lam, Tin Shui Wai and Sai Kung. Yuen Long is expected to be worst hit by floods.
