Andrea, first named storm of 2013 Atlantic hurricane season, prompts tropical storm warning

A tropical storm warning has been issued along the west coast of Florida from Boca Grande to Ochlocknee River. As of 6 p.m. ET, the center of the storm Andrea was located about 310 miles southwest of Tampa. The center of Andrea is expected to make landfall late Thursday on the Florida Panhandle. Andrea is predicted to bring 3 to 6 inches of rain over much of Florida and southeastern Georgia. The US National Hurricane Centre (NHC) also warned that a few tornadoes are possible over the Florida peninsula today. Andrea is the first named storm of the 2013 Atlantic hurricane season. Andrea is however not forecast to strengthen into a hurricane. Hurricane prediction for Florida 2013 is 48 % which is up from the 31 % average over the last century. Sinkhole in Florida swallows man

A sinkhole in Florida has swallowed a man. Sinkhole opened under the bedroom of a house near Tampa. A sinkhole in Florida of size 30 feet wide and 20 feet deep has swallowed a man. Sinkhole disaster occurred around 11:00 p.m. Thursday night near Tampa, Florida. A 36-year-old man, Jeff Bush, remains trapped under the sinkhole. The bedroom area is expected to be the center of the sinkhole. Although rescue crews lowered listening devices and cameras into the hole but they didn't get any action from Bush. Florida is prone to sinkholes and has frequent sinkholes in the United States. Sinkholes are also common in Texas, Alabama, Florida, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee and Pennsylvania in United States.
