April 21, 2020: Severe flooding has claimed lives of at least 36 people and injured 42 people in parts of the Democratic Republic of Congo. About 45 other people injured, 3,500 homes destroyed when the Mulongwe river flooded in Uvira city on Friday 17 April, 2020. About 1,000 families have been said to homeless. According to the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO), the city of Uvira and surrounding areas in South Kivu have been the worst affected.

Flash flood aftermath in Boma, DR Congo (The Government of Kongo Central Province) December 30, 2016: At least 50 people died and 10,000 became homeless after flash floods hit Boma, Democratic Republic of the Congo on Tuesday. Heavy rainfall caused the Kalamu River, to overflow into the River Congo leading the outbrust into the banks in the city of Boma.

At least 47 people have been missing following a landslide in Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo), Xinhua reported. Natural catastrophe occurrred in Rubaya in North Kivu province of DR Congo. A rescue team has been working in the landslide zone but no survivor or body has been found. Nyiragongo volcano landslide in DR Congo in 2010 claimed lives of at least 54 people.
