Cambodia flooding kills 23

Flooding in Cambodia has claimed lives of at least 23 people in the last two weeks, National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM) said today. Cambodia flooding has affected around 56,900 families in seven different provinces. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has advised concerned ministries and authorities to be on high alert and prepare to evacuate people. Low pressure system and Wutip typhoon have been causing heavy rains in the Mekong River basin and in Cambodia, weather officials said. Last year, Cambodia flooding killed 14 people, Xinhua reported. The 2011 Cambodia flooding had claimed lives of at least 250 people. Cambodia flooding damage was US$ 100-161 Million. Flooding is one of the main natural disaster in Cambodia as 80 percent of the Cambodia’s territory lies within the Mekong River. Cambodia floods kill 9

Death toll from Cambodia floods have risen to nine, National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM) said today. Banteay Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Kampong Thom and Kratie provinces are reported to be worst hit by floods. Cambodia floods have affected some 5,300 families and evacuated about 450 families, Xinhua said. Earlier there was report of seven fatalities from Cambodia floods . Cambodia flooding 2013 claim 7 lives

Cambodia flooding 2013 have claimed seven lives so far, National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM) said today. Flooding in Banteay Meanchey, Preah Vihear and Kampong Thom provinces have displaced some 450 families, Xinhua reported. According to The National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM), Cambodia flooding 2013 have damaged some 230 houses and submerged around 3,000 hectares of rice paddy.
