Mount Sinabung Volcano Eruption 2014 kills 14

Mount Sinabung volcano eruption in Indonesia has claimed lives of at least 14 people and injured three others, Xinhua reported quoting the national disaster agency.

Fatalities include four school children.

Deadly Mount Sinabung volcano eruption occurred after the authorities on Friday allowed nearly 14,000 villagers to return home after they fled following previous eruptions.

Mount Sinabung volcano eruption 2014 will resume on Sunday, February 2, AFP reported quoting National Disaster Management Agency.

Multiple eruptions of Mount Sinabung in North Sumatra province sent lava and pyroclastic flows down the southern slopes up to 4.5 kilometers away, National Disaster Mitigation Agency added.

Mount Sinabung in North Sumatra's Karo district has been erupting since September. An emergency response period was declared by the Karo regency administration in North Sumatra following the Mount Sinabung’s eruptions in November 2013.

Mount Sinabung is among more than 120 active volcanoes located in North Sumatra province of Indonesia. Mount Sinabung volcano eruption in 2010 had claimed life of one person.
