FEMA hosts Delaware flood insurance partners roundtable

May 18, 2018: The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region III, in partnership with the State of Delaware, hosted the Delaware Flood Insurance Partners Roundtable. FEMA, the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), and the Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) planned and coordinated the roundtable to bring together key stakeholders to discuss insurance.  The meeting included key local, state, federal, and private sector partners, including Delaware State Agency partners, floodplain managers, emergency managers, realtors, lenders, and insurance agents from across the state to engage in a critical discussion on increasing flood insurance coverage in Delaware and reducing flood risk. "As the spring rainy season approaches, Louisiana homeowners, renters and business owners are urged to purchase a policy through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP)," Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) mentioned in its news release issued on March 7, 2017. FEMA conducting Emergency Alert System test today

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in coordination with state, local, tribal, and territorial emergency managers and state broadcasters’ associations, is conducting a test of Emergency Alert System (EAS) in nine states today, June 15th at 2:20 PM MDT/1:20 PM PDT. The EAS test will be organized in California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Wyoming, and Washington, FEMA mentioned in a news release.

Mississippi Disaster Recovery Centers operates in five places

The Mississippi and federal emergency agencies are operating five disaster recovery centers in Mississippi  to individuals affected by the December storms. California wildfire survivor can apply for SBA disaster loans

California wildfire survivors can apply for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) disaster loans and also register with FEMA until November 23, 2015. Eligible small businesses applying for only the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program have until June 22, 2016 to apply, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) said in a news release issued on October 30, 2015.

Disaster Recovery Center in Franklin County to close on May 23

A disaster recovery center in Franklin County will close Saturday, May 23, at 6 p.m. (EDT).  The disaster recovery center is operated by the commonwealth of Kentucky and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. After the center closes, help is still available to survivors who suffered losses in Bath, Bourbon, Carter, Elliott, Franklin, Jefferson, Lawrence, Madison, Rowan and Scott counties during the severe April storms .

FEMA upgrades mobile app to receive weather alerts across the country
